The Welcome home party

We walked out of the airport with our 4 kids all together and loaded up the car to head to our house for the welcome home party.

Our family and friends had the house all decorated so cute and they had food prepared and had cleaned the house for us too! We are lucky to have such amazing support!

Mia went straight for all the uncles

Bree lovin on her new sister

The house was decorated with all these picture frames with pictures of Mia in Ukraine

More of my fabulous friends!
Mia and her new great grandparents

This is how you could find Mia....surrounded by all the kids

The balloon launch was really fun. My friends chose rainbow colored balloons for Reece's Rainbow...

Mia and her new grandparents

I love this one...Bree is explaining the ropes of the food table to Mia

Bree is such a ham! We looked over at the food table and she was eating the casear salad straight out of the serving bowl with the huge serving fork
My sister Lida, had a fun surprise for us.....she had ordered real floating lanterns just like in Tangled.
We all lit them and released them while listening to Mia's theme song from Tangled "I see the Light"
It was amazing and emotional to actually be home with her and watch the lanterns float in the night air while listening to "her song"

Thanks to all the friends and family who came to welcome us home! It was a VERY memorable day/night!

  2. I was doing okay with not crying this time until I saw the lanterns. What a wonderful surprise. What a wonderful support system you have. This just makes me more excited that we are starting this journey (yep, you heard right, it is finally our turn). Just keep watching the New Commitments page next week.

  4. I agree with Katrina. I was ok until the lanterns came out. I love seeing pictures of how Mia's life is so drastically changed from what it was. And we're hoping our "New Commitment" page is able to be posted tomorrow. We're waiting for one more piece of paperwork to be turned in to RR...

  6. I think this was one of the first posts I could read without crying...then comes the lanterns! I can just visualize how amazing it must have been to light those babies, launch them into the sky to Mia's beautiful song...see crying again. Oh girl, you are amazing!

  7. I think of you and your sweet family often, dear friend. The pictures are beautiful. I hope you don't mind but I added you to my Families Already Home blog list. Your sweet Mia is too beautiful not to share with the world.
